For Our Clean & Green Beauty Friends On Earth Day

Posted by Johnae De Felicis on Apr 22nd 2021

It’s Earth Day! We’ll be honoring the occasion by also celebrating the clean beauty movement. “Clean beauty” is defined as everyday beauty products that are manufactured without the use of harmful ingredients. You can assume that brands are clean beauty-friendly when they offer toxic-free products that are safe for your body, skin, or the environment.

You’ve likely shopped clean beauty products if you have purchased items with the following buzzwords on the packaging:

  • Natural - Products labeled as “natural” contain ingredients that derive from nature, ranging from plants to minerals.
  • Organic - A step up from natural products, products made with organic ingredients are free of toxic pesticides.
  • Green/Non-Toxic: This simply means that the products won’t cause any harm to your body (or the environment).
  • Chemical-Free: Products with this labeling suggest that they weren’t made with toxic chemicals (i.e., lead or formaldehyde).
  • Vegan: Vegan products aren’t produced with any ingredients that come from animals (such as beeswax).
  • Cruelty-Free: With cruelty-free products, no animal testing was performed on the ingredients or the product itself.

Why Clean Beauty Matters

Society as a whole has become more health and environmentally conscious than ever before–especially when it comes to the consumer products. It’s safe to say that many of us are more invested in knowing how the products we use can affect us and the environment.

As your partners in style, Design Essentials believes that you deserve to know what’s in your hair care products. That’s why we’re so transparent about the ingredients we use. We’re also doing our part to raise the bar of the beauty industry’s product safety standards, by manufacturing products that further protect consumers’ interests and wellbeings.

Almond & Avocado Collection

Whether you have naturally wavy, curly, or coily hair, the Almond & Avocado Collection is the best friend to your natural hair needs. With the perfect blend of two natural ingredients (almond oil and avocado oil), this collection tames frizz while leaving your hair soft and shiny. None of the products have parabens, paraffins, petrolatum, mineral oils, or sulfates.

Our customers use the Agave & Lavender Collection to achieve the perfect silk press, but that’s only possible with healthy and undamaged hair. The formula is made with lavender and natural agave extract, both of which are natural ingredients. Use of this collection leads to an effortless switch up from natural hair to tresses that are smooth like silk.

It also protects your hair against heat damage that may cause breakage or mess up your natural curl pattern. Last but not least, it is free of sulfates, alcohol, parabens, paraffin, mineral oil, petrolatum, or DEA.

The Scalp & Skin Care Collecton

Our scalp and skin care collection is not only dermatologist-tested, but it’s also free from dyes, artificial fragrances, and harmful mineral oils. The collection contains all natural ingredients (including vitamins A, D3, and E) that provide great nourishment to the skin and scalp.
